OUR PHILOSOPHY
The film set must be a space for free creation that is ethically responsible and free from violence.
We regulate professional practice in Mexico to ensure that every shoot respects labor rights, gender equity, and the physical integrity of those who lead the collective vision.
OUR OBJECTIVES
We seek to support the development of a fair and professional film industry in Mexico across several key areas:
Career Advancement
We aim to secure better working conditions—including signed contracts and clear payment terms—through assertive communication with production companies, CANACINE, AMFI, and government bodies.
We participated in the signing of the STPS (Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare) Collaboration Agreement for the Formalization of Work within the Mexican film industry.
Our wage scale serves as a reference benchmark for determining compensation for Assistant Directors.
We advocate for equal rights and pay, as well as non-discrimination, while fostering respect and dignity in the workplace.
Collective Health
Any ADMX member who wishes to do so can access the group private health insurance plan through the insurer Sofía Salud at a 20% discount off the general public rate.
This is a preventive insurance plan covering everything from minor issues—such as the flu or general and specialist medical consultations—to certified ambulance services (one per year) and major medical expenses.
We also collectively fund maternity insurance, which covers medical expenses for members wishing to become mothers, spanning from pregnancy through the postpartum period.
This insurance can also cover the immediate family of our members: spouses and children.
Education
We offer workshops on Assistant Directing throughout the country—conducted by active professional assistant directors—in collaboration with film commissions, CANACINE, AMFI, and film schools.
QUALITY STANDARDIZATION
We work to help improve the skills of ADMX members through continuous training and professional development, featuring talks by international Assistant Directors who share their experiences—such as:

These sessions involve Assistant Directors with extensive international experience, alongside courses that complement our work, such as First Aid training with the Red Cross and Intimacy Coordination with ACOIM.
PAY ATTENTION TO INDUSTRY CHANGES
Times change rapidly, and it is necessary to stay up to date.
ADMX keeps abreast of these changes and seeks to foster communication and organization among ADs, as well as to secure benefits such as half-price software or demos, among others.
COMMUNICATION WITH OTHER FILM INDUSTRY GUILDS
RRECOGNITION OF MEXICAN ADRs IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA
As a civil society organized for the benefit of Assistant Directors, we seek to establish communication with similar societies—such as those for writers, art departments, producers, cinematographers, and so on—with the aim of forging ties and developing projects that benefit us all.
We participate in the annual Assistant Director Awards.
Directing teams from our organization are eligible for nomination and to win awards.
In 2025, we had the honor of seeing the directing team led by Carlos Cruz Suazo win the Silver ADA for Best Directing Team for the film La Cocina. The film was directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios and produced by Filmadora, with producers Marco Polo Constandse, José Nacif, and Ramiro Ruiz.
